Dear Members,

I am looking for your suggestion or experience on developing a mobile Application.

What are the requirements?

What is the best affordable method to develop an Android and Apple Platform of Mobile Apps?

What will be the Price Plan?

One of the reasons why someone would want to turn their site into an app is to send push notifications to the user when there is an update to the site or their account. I would gladly pay for a push notification extension. :D
However that would only hold me over for a while because the person would need to have their browser open or running in the background in order to get a notification.
An app would send the notification to the notification panel no matter what. the only time they would not get the notifications is if they turn it off from their setting or user control panel.

You were saying? :-D

And there was a mod too: ... &t=2161676

It would be nice to have a good extension of this.

I would add a new "notification method" like jabber or email and define it as a service.

Then, when enabled, a new column will pop automatically in our notification settings and we'll be able to set for each notification if we want to have them sent by our new method too. (on UCP)

As above. I however, get notifications within a minute or so via push email.

In all the years that I have been using forums and other such sites, I have never looked for any app that has been made available, let alone installed one.

@Leinad4Mind: I have already tried that extension. It doesn't work and developer has abandoned it. He couldn't get it to work.

I have also tried this one:
[DEV] Browser notifications ... &t=2355286

Also no dice and also abandoned.

@WelshPaul: SiteSplat it already with the times by using BootStrap as the core and having an ultra responsive design. Push Notifications is essential and here to stay. I know there is the option of getting emails but a lot of my audience are like me. Only check email once or twice a day and don't like to get my email flooded with notifications. I like email to only be used for getting order confirmation and other formal business things. Not for my social media notifications. :D
